Okocha warns young players against indiscipline
AS the Oceanic Football Talent Hunt TV reality show gets to the crucial stage of eviction, former Super Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, has identified indiscipline as the bane of football development in the country.

Speaking to the Oceanic 30 in the camp during a pep talk at the weekend, the ex-international maintained that most footballers that could have made positive impact in their careers lost the opportunity due to indiscipline and extravagance.

“The same way a nation fumbles due to indiscipline on the part of the authorities, so also footballers lose good chances through indiscipline and reckless spending, showing off when they are supposed to lie low, thereby jeopardising their chances. You can see that talent is not enough, this is why we are also preparing you in terms of character building,” Okocha said.

The players have expressed satisfaction at the quality of activities on and off the pitch even as they commended the technical competence of their coaches, Austin Okocha, Waidi Akanni and Friday Elahor.

Meanwhile, FIFA- licensed agent and coach, Emmanuel Okocha has landed in the Oceanic 30 camp to offer professional assistance in the grooming of the players.

The FIFA agent is also expected to explore areas of export of the successful players to notable foreign clubs to pursue their professional careers.

The youthful footballers were in high spirits as they defied the rain and engaged in rigorous training to the admiration and appreciation of their coaches as well as the spectators who thronged their Ikeja training pitch to watch them daily.
